In a bid to meet the growing demand for accessible, accurate data on Asian consumer markets, Access Asia is publishing a new range of key information products in 2004. In the pipeline are four China databases: retail sales; consumer products; industrial output; and a price index.
First off the launch pad is the China Retail Database. This new product will provide detailed figures on retail sales values and volumes for over 180 subsectors and sectors in 25 food markets, together with some 242 subsectors and sectors in 14 non-food markets. For each market, sector and subsector, the database will include both volume and value data - with provincial breakdowns? over the past nine years.
As well as core retail data, the China Retail Database includes: average per capita spend per sector and subsector; average unit prices per sector and subsector; and vital statistics at both the national and provincial level - demographic breakdowns, average incomes, total average incomes, average incomes by sector, household breakdowns, consumer expenditure breakdowns, GDP figures and exchange rates.
The China Retail Database also includes leading company market shares for most sectors/subsectors per province for at least the past five years.
Whatever your data requirements for consumer goods sectors in China - market size, growth rate, sectoral breakdown, key market players - this database has it. And because we can slice data according to market, sector, subsector and by province, you need only buy the information most relevant to you.
The databases will initially be available on CD-ROM, with access via www.access-asia.info planned later this year. For more information, feel free to contact us at info@access-asia.info.
